Small Group Bible Studies at Wesley

Wednesday’s are the primary night that we gather at 7 pm and meet until 8:15 pm in small groups.  It’s a way to recharge and reconnect midweek.  We have a wide-range of groups in which you can sign up from traditional Bible studies (We are one of the beta sites for Disciples Fast Track) to book-based studies like The Gospel According to Marvel Comics or Dr. Suess or issues-based studies like Creation Care. Each small group is led by a student leader or staff person, and groups stay together for the full semester so you have the opportunity to grow closer and find encouragement, prayer, and support. Sign-ups begin during Welcome Week and will continue throughout the semester.

We also offer a Pub Theology group on Tuesday nights at 7 pm at the OoZoo Bar, located directly across the street from Gator Wesley. This group os led by Doug Johnson, a professor at the University of Florida and Gator Wesley’s Faculty Advisor. Each week they dive into current social, theological, and political topics to discuss and learn about how our Christian faith can influence our thinking, living and loving. All ages are welcome, however only those that are 21 and older can purchase alcohol.

Santa Fe College

First Year Fellowship

Are you new to UF or Santa Fe? Mondays in the Fall at 9 pm meet at the Gator Wesley Center to get to know other first years! The First Year Fellowship Leaders will create a schedule of what will be happening each week at First Year Fellowship that includes scavenger hunts, games, frisbee, and all sorts of fun, bonding stuff.  We will pair this time together in fellowship with Habitudes for the Journey a Christian study based on different images.  You can request a “dusting” relationship with an older student.  It’s our one on one discipleship ministry and it helps both of you to grow in relationship to Christ and with each other.
